Has Spring ... Sprung???

We got out the Winter coats, a-gain. But it promises to be mid-summer by this weekend...oh the weather! Nevermind that, we have 5 new colts born so far this year! Each one athletic, sweet and gorgeous... we'll get back soon about which foal is what color - The jury is still out. The foaling-watch team of Cedar, Lindsey, Jennifer and Rachel are doing a very commendable job, thank you very much!  We are still expecting another 6 new babies over the next 3 months.  Gosh, I hope we don't have ALL boys! Statistically, it's unlikely, but the way Mother Nature has been lately....well, you know what I mean.  Alive and healthy is just fine thank you!

camraderie with discussions....But now, we're battening down the hatches for more snow tonight...

Um...Are Horses Coming into the House?!?!

Here's what the Working Students do after their chores are done.... practicing in the arena....warming up for a lesson with JP....
.... Later after their lessons, JP works a young Lusitano gelding on the long lines...

Then, after everyone's gone home.... Cedar invites Zidane indoors for some dessert and a movie??

Snow! New Working Student!!

We had a light dusting of snow in Kentucky this morning! We also had a fourth Working Student start yesterday - we welcomed a lovely young lady from TN called Arielle (not her first trip to the farm, but her first as a Working Student!). She joins our crew headed up by Cedar (from Mississippi), Lindsey (from Wyoming) and Catherine (originally from France, now Lexington, KY).

Baby Horses!

Welcome to Baroque Farms USA.  We thought we'd take you inside the farm
and show you the things that go on here.   If there is anything in particular
you'd like to know about... ask!!  Otherwise, we'll continue to share tidbits
of what's happening down on the farm.

There's nothing so wonderful as a newborn baby horse!  Here's a little video
showing how we start training them from birth so they're as friendly as a puppy!
